Stonewall Forest Academy is a small, nature-based learning community located on a 13 acre homestead in Elmwood, Tennessee. Our students spend their days learning through literature, exploration, nature study, practical work, and creative expression.
Because we intentionally keep enrollment small to preserve the quality of the experience, tuition supports the teachers, materials, animals, land stewardship, and the daily operations of the school.
Core Program – Tuesday-Thursday 9:00-12:00
Our 3–6-year-olds learn in a Montessori Primary environment, while our older students follow a Charlotte Mason-inspired curriculum. As a small, one-room schoolhouse serving a handful of local homeschooling families, children and parents learn alongside one another in a warm, multi-age community.
Each morning begins with shared studies, including literature, poetry, history, music, and rich discussion. Students then transition into a two-and-a-half-hour work period. Younger children engage with Montessori materials, while older students work through independent lessons, narration, handicrafts, and meaningful academic work.
Morning lessons conclude at noon. Families are welcome to stay for a picnic-style community lunch, outdoor play, and enrichment activities, or head home after lessons.

Annual Fees
Enrollment Fee — $150/year
Secures your child’s place in the program and covers enrollment and administrative costs.
Resource Fee — $250/year
Supports classroom materials, art supplies, nature study equipment, books, and other learning resources used throughout the year.
