At Stonewall Forest Academy, we believe kids learn best through hands-on experience, connection with nature, and meaningful work. That’s why we’re building a one-of-a-kind learning environment that blends homesteading skills with entrepreneurial education.
Here’s a glimpse into daily life at our forest-based school:
🌱 Worm Farming – Students will manage our worm farm and learn how composting enriches the soil and supports a healthy garden ecosystem.
🌸 Wildflower Farming – We’ll grow and harvest wildflowers for handmade bouquets and floral crafts, teaching students how beauty and business can go hand-in-hand.
🐝 Beekeeping – Our beehives will introduce students to the magic of pollinators while producing honey, beeswax, and other natural products.
🌳 Forestry & Stewardship – We’ll explore forest ecosystems, identify native species, and practice sustainable land management.
🥕 Gardening & Produce – From seed to harvest, students will grow fruits and vegetables while learning the science and art behind it all.
🍞 Fermentation & Sourdough – Students will explore ancient food preservation methods and make their own fermented foods and sourdough bread.
🍄 Mushroom Foraging – With safety and curiosity, we’ll learn to identify edible mushrooms and understand their ecological role in the forest.
🎶 Storytelling & Music – Creativity will thrive with regular sessions in storytelling, folk music, and oral tradition, nurturing confidence and connection.
🛍️ Youth Entrepreneurship – Students will start small businesses, create handmade products, and sell them at local farmers markets and festivals—building real-world skills and pride in their work.
We’re not just preparing kids for tests—we’re preparing them for life.
