Mission & Values

Our Educational Philosophy

Stonewall Forest Academy is rooted in the Charlotte Mason philosophy, with inspiration drawn from the seasonal rhythms of Waldorf, the independence of Montessori, and the hands-on exploration of Forest School traditions.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a nurturing space where children grow in wisdom, wonder, and purpose.

We believe every child is uniquely designed and capable of great things when given the freedom to explore, the encouragement to try, and the time to discover their gifts within a supportive community.

Our Values

At Stonewall Forest Academy, our values shape how we teach, learn, and live together:

Stewardship of the Earth
We teach care for the natural world, encouraging a lifelong relationship with the land and its creatures. These values guide us every day as we help children grow into thoughtful, capable, and purpose-driven individuals.

Integrity & Character
We encourage honesty, responsibility, and doing the right thing—even when no one is watching.

Kindness & Respect
We foster empathy, compassion, and dignity in every interaction.

Manners & Consideration
We teach gratitude, courtesy, and the small daily habits that build strong communities.

Self-Care & Compassion
We support emotional and physical well-being, helping children care for themselves and others.

Time for Reflection in Nature
We honor quiet moments of observation, journaling, and wonder as essential parts of learning.

Unplugged, Present Living
We prioritize real-world experiences over screens, allowing children to be fully engaged with life around them.

Healthy Living
We promote nutritious eating, active play, and respect for the body as part of daily life.
